In my campaign, most cap and ball firearms are at half the price listed in the Aces & Eights rulebook. Those guns are not available in my game unless they appeared historically by 1873. In our campaign, then, weapons that were around in the real 1873 are around in our fictional 1868.Īces & Eights renames some weapons to have them released 10 years earlier, such as the Colt 1868 shotgun. So I’ll put us about 5 years ahead, not 10. economy suffering from the loss of the Confederate states, as they were between our own 18. In the 35 or so that I got from Sweden and sold there was a couple of these HVA rifles. They're basically the same as the Remington m/1867 which in Sweden is known as the Remingtongevr.
But by my reckoning advancements in technology and manufacturing wouldn’t be quite as rapid between the peace treaty of 1857 and the default starting game year of 1868, with the U.S. The Swedish military rolling blocks manufactured by HVA, aka Husqvarna, were known as the Model 1867-68. The alternate history has the Civil War starting in 1851 rather than 1861, which brings on the wartime and postwar rush of firearm manufacturing ten years early. For my game not all of those guns are available. The Aces & Eights rulebook includes an array of firearms manufactured into the 1890s.
